Who we are

Angelique is the lead consultant for strategy and collaboration at Upstream. She brings together sharp strategic judgement with a deeply human approach to change. In her work advising funders, leaders and networks, she always brings people with her from across diverse cultures and perspectives.

Her work focusses on public engagement, communications and campaign strategy. She advises philanthropy and civil society on issues including climate change, renewable energy and keeping children safe online. Over a 25 year career she’s held senior leadership roles at Oxfam, 350.org and Save the Children.

Rob is the lead consultant for operations and organisational design at Upstream. He works with leaders, funders and networks to build the financial, legal and governance foundations that allow ambitious strategies to succeed — particularly in complex, multi-country environments.

His work focuses on organisational setup, financial management, governance and change. Over a 25 year career, he has held senior leadership roles at Oxfam, 350.org and the Red Cross, served on the boards of a UK charity and a Dutch foundation, and led organisations through start-up, restructuring, downsizing and financial crisis, working across US, EU, UK and African legal entities.

Angelique and Rob work as a tight partnership, combining strategic thinking with operational delivery because they believe the two are inseparable.

Cansın Leylim Ilgaz is a campaigner and facilitator who works on public engagement on key international issues such as accelerating renewable energy. She helps organisations and networks turn big ideas into practical action. Based in Turkey, Cansın brings 15 years of experience working with movements and partners across countries and contexts.

Claire Seaward is a strategist with over 20 years of programme, communications, advocacy and constituency engagement experience through global leadership roles in a range of NGOs. She brings together community and large-scale systems change. She has worked on issues of climate change, clean energy, human rights and access to basic services across the world.
